Men's Club LacrosseThe Men's Lacrosse Club is made up of players with different skill levels and various lacrosse talents. Each year, the club strives to continue improve their lacrosse skills. In 2011, the Rutgers Men's Lacrosse Club had its most successful season in its history. In the regular season, the team posted a 12-2 record, going undefeated in conference play, capturing its first Liberty League Title. Rutgers was awarded a home game for its first round playoff game. Rutgers beat #7 Hofstra 12-3, clinching its first ever NCLL National Tournament appearance. Rutgers faced #8 Ohio State in the first round of the Tournament. Rutgers won 13-12 advancing to the Final Four to play #3 Penn State. Rutgers won 9-7, advancing to the NCLL National Championship to play #1 Navy. After 4 long fought quarters, Rutgers came up just short, losing 10-9. Rutgers finished the season 15-3, ranked #2 by the NCLL. Rutgers had 5 players named to the Division I All Tournament Team: Kyle Gourley, Jon Jackopin, John Clarkeson, Jamie Scott, and Greg Magliano. After its most successful season in its history, Rutgers Club Lacrosse strives to return to the NCLL National Tournament, in hopes of capturing the NCLL National Championship. For the 2012 year, the team will be divided into two teams. The "White" team will compete in Division I of the NCLL, while the "Scarlet" team will compete competitively in Division II of the NCLL. Try-outs will be held the beginning of the fall semester, however teams will not be officially set until the spring. In the fall, the club as a whole will practice and play in exhibition games that do not count toward their spring season and official record. During the spring semester, the teams will practice and compete in games & tournaments in an attempt to seek a playoff birth, and make a run for the national championship.
